NINJA HAULER: 2005 Nissan Xterra - $12900 (Ronan / Lake County)

Reply to: sale-926508578@craigslist.org [?]
Date: 2008-11-19, 10:04PM MST
OK, let me start off by saying this Xterra is only available for purchase by the manliest of men (or women). My friend, if it was possible for a vehicle to sprout chest hair and a five o'clock shadow, this Nissan would look like Tom Selleck. It is just that manly.

It was never intended to drive to the mall so you can pick up that adorable shirt at Abercrombie & Fitch that you had your eye on. It wasn't meant to transport you to yoga class or Linens & Things. No, that's what your Prius is for. If that's the kind of car you're looking for, then just do us all a favor and stop reading right now. I mean it. Just stop.

This car was engineered by 3rd degree ninja super-warriors in the highest mountains of Japan to serve the needs of the man that cheats death on a daily basis. They didn't even consider superfluous nancy boy amenities like navigation systems (real men don't get lost), heated leather seats (a real man doesn't let anything warm his butt), or On Star (real men don't even know what the hell On Star is).

No, this brute comes with the things us testosterone-fueled super action junkies need. It has a 265 HP engine to outrun the cops. It's got special blood/gore resistant upholstery. It even has a first-aid kit in the back. You know what the first aid kit has in it? A pint of whiskey, a stitch-your-own-wound kit and a hunk of leather to bite down on when you're operating on yourself. The Xterra also has an automatic transmission so if you're being chased by Libyan terrorists, you'll still be able to shoot your machine gun out the window and drive at the same time. It's saved my bacon more than once.

It has room for you and the four hotties you picked up on the way to the gym to blast your pecs and hammer your glutes. There's a tow hitch to pull your 50 caliber anti-Taliban, self cooling machine gun. I also just put in a new windshield to replace the one that got shot out by The Man.

My price on this bad boy is an incredibly low $12,900, but I'll entertain reasonable offers. And by reasonable, I mean don't walk up and tell me you'll give me $5,000 for it. That's liable to earn you a Burmese-roundhouse-sphincter-kick with a follow up three fingered eye-jab. Would it hurt? Hell yeah. Let's just say you won't be the prettiest guy at the Coldplay concert anymore.

There's only 69,000 miles on this four-wheeled hellcat from Planet Kickass. Trust me, it will outlive you and the offspring that will carry your name. It will live on as a monument to your machismo.

Now, go look in the mirror and tell me what you see. If it's a rugged, no holds barred, super brute he-man macho Chuck Norris stunt double, then contact me. I might be out hang-gliding or BASE jumping or just chilling with my ladies, but I'll get back to you. And when I do, we'll talk about a price over a nice glass of Schmidt while we listen to Johnny Cash.

To sweeten the deal a little, I'm throwing in this pair of MC Hammer pants for the man with rippling quads that can't fit into regular pants. Yeah, you heard me. FREE MC Hammer pants.

Rock on.

Obama's Letter to his Daughters.

Very Wavy....
Dear Malia and Sasha,

I know that you’ve both had a lot of fun these last two years on the campaign trail, going to picnics and parades and state fairs, eating all sorts of junk food your mother and I probably shouldn’t have let you have. But I also know that it hasn’t always been easy for you and Mom, and that as excited as you both are about that new puppy, it doesn’t make up for all the time we’ve been apart. I know how much I’ve missed these past two years, and today I want to tell you a little more about why I decided to take our family on this journey.

When I was a young man, I thought life was all about me—about how I’d make my way in the world, become successful, and get the things I want. But then the two of you came into my world with all your curiosity and mischief and those smiles that never fail to fill my heart and light up my day. And suddenly, all my big plans for myself didn’t seem so important anymore. I soon found that the greatest joy in my life was the joy I saw in yours. And I realized that my own life wouldn’t count for much unless I was able to ensure that you had every opportunity for happiness and fulfillment in yours. In the end, girls, that’s why I ran for President: because of what I want for you and for every child in this nation.

I want all our children to go to schools worthy of their potential—schools that challenge them, inspire them, and instill in them a sense of wonder about the world around them. I want them to have the chance to go to college—even if their parents aren’t rich. And I want them to get good jobs: jobs that pay well and give them benefits like health care, jobs that let them spend time with their own kids and retire with dignity.

I want us to push the boundaries of discovery so that you’ll live to see new technologies and inventions that improve our lives and make our planet cleaner and safer. And I want us to push our own human boundaries to reach beyond the divides of race and region, gender and religion that keep us from seeing the best in each other.

Sometimes we have to send our young men and women into war and other dangerous situations to protect our country—but when we do, I want to make sure that it is only for a very good reason, that we try our best to settle our differences with others peacefully, and that we do everything possible to keep our servicemen and women safe. And I want every child to understand that the blessings these brave Americans fight for are not free—that with the great privilege of being a citizen of this nation comes great responsibility.

That was the lesson your grandmother tried to teach me when I was your age, reading me the opening lines of the Declaration of Independence and telling me about the men and women who marched for equality because they believed those words put to paper two centuries ago should mean something.

She helped me understand that America is great not because it is perfect but because it can always be made better—and that the unfinished work of perfecting our union falls to each of us. It’s a charge we pass on to our children, coming closer with each new generation to what we know America should be.

I hope both of you will take up that work, righting the wrongs that you see and working to give others the chances you’ve had. Not just because you have an obligation to give something back to this country that has given our family so much—although you do have that obligation. But because you have an obligation to yourself. Because it is only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you will realize your true potential.

These are the things I want for you—to grow up in a world with no limits on your dreams and no achievements beyond your reach, and to grow into compassionate, committed women who will help build that world. And I want every child to have the same chances to learn and dream and grow and thrive that you girls have. That’s why I’ve taken our family on this great adventure.

I am so proud of both of you. I love you more than you can ever know. And I am grateful every day for your patience, poise, grace, and humor as we prepare to start our new life together in the White House.

Love, Dad

Goals for 2009

Effective Tomorrow (Friday) Morning:

No more soda or Fast food: Ive been drinking soda my whole life so this is going to be a tough habit to break. Im fairly confident that I can do it though. However its tough after i close the bar bc I always eat it at 1 or 2 in the morning. I usually have the lame unmotivated excuse of "its the only the open at that time..." Instead of going grocery shopping and eating properly during the day. Fast Food is like taking an ugly girl home from the bar, its great at the time but when you wake up you always feel like shit and asking yourself "what did i dooo last night..."

My new motto is: "Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper..."

Gym: After years of going to the gym on and off I realized today that the gym is the best thing EVER and heres why. I can escape my BB for an hour or so, I can exsercise, relax while tihnking and I can read for an hour or so a day.. All in one.. very wavey..I went tonight and Ran 1 mile, and did 11 on the bike incline..Just a start

Bar: Diagio USA just pretty much named us the coolest bar in CT. With that being said Im going to try to bring in more nationally known acts monthly and make it the coolest bar in the world. For those of you who were there to see Colin Munroe play with Flowers and Kain last month, Colin is on the cover of the new Vibe magazine with Kanye. CRAZY!

Famous Firm: HUGE things are developing as I speak..09 is going to be outta this world for me, my firmbino's and firmbinas..I am now the Brand Coordinator for the Firm. Which means I brand any act that we do business with, this is a great look for me and the firm. So by implementing my new years schedule its going to allow me so much more time to learn and grown and become a brand afficianado. Move over Lyor

So last week I was gonna do one of those lame '2009 is my year, im gonna do blah blah blah' posts but I figure If i keep adding new goals weekly It will be much easier to accomplish. So Im going to do a 'Goals of 09' post every week until 2010.

Im also almost finished with a dope plan for this blog which will take it to the next level, whatever that may be. The whole new layout and concept was inspired by a book im reading. Im just looking for a DOPE graphic designer to work with the photos and themes. I havent found the right one yet so if you know of any hit me up! diarm@thefamousfirm.com

RIP Mark

Damn cant believe its already been 2 years.. Mark was my dude, he was like my big brother. He smartened me up to a lot of things. He wasnt like normal dudes. He was all about his Fam and friends.... He used to looove downsouth hiphop, thats all he ever bumped in his car.. He loved Cadillacs, we used to call him P Deville. One of his favorite artists was scarface, so when i was at badboy a couple weeks ago with sickamore we ran into scarface and he said whattup to me.. I was kinda star struck, I never really liked scarface but it was like Mark was living through me at that moment. It was real dope.

Mark helped me and Dj get our first apartment, it was in housing and wasnt much but it was a start. He always used to tell me to never give up on my music dreams, if he could be here know and see what im doing he'd be stoked..I remember when i opened the bar him and T came through. He was super excited, one because we both loved to drink (he got me fucked up for the first time, off southern comfort budweiser and crown) and two because I was doing something productive. I was making it happen. He treated his friends like fam and thats what I loved about him. I used to hit him up for advice whenever, you woulda liked him...

"So...Curse the day that birthed the bastard who caused your Church mass..Reverse the crash, Reverse the blast, And reverse the car....Reverse the day, and there you are"

Throwback Joint

I think people forget how dope 50 can be.. This was on his first EP called power of the dollar, it was like a 5 song disc. I remember the day i copped it at this store down the street from where i was living at the time called record express. The cd also had the joint with nore on it the track with the mad rapper and a few other gems. This is circa 1998 before he got shot up, you can hear the difference in his voice...enjoy

NYE cancelled in DUBAI

wooow.. my uncle just sent me this a second ago...

"Sheikh Mohammed has ordered the cancellation of NYE celebrations.

New Year's Eve celebrations have been cancelled in Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the cancellation of all forms of celebrations marking the New Year in Dubai emirate, as an act of solidarity with the Palestinian people.

In support of the Palestinians in Gaza Sheikh Mohammed has instructed all concerned authorities in Dubai to put this order in place and take necessary procedures to circulate the decision to all concerned parties.."

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

"My name is Benjamin Button, and I was born under unusual circumstances. While, everyone else was agin', I was gettin' younger... all alone."

Went to check this out last night, what a great movie.. Kinda long but you dont even notice, its one of those movies that you almost don't want to end..Brad Pit is born with a disease where he ages backwards. When he's born his mother dies during labor and his Father abandons him on a doorstep. The movie follows his trials and tribulations, from birth to death. Its told from the POV of 'Daisy' as she's dying in a hospital bed during Katrina in New Orleans. Daisy is the character played by Cate Blanchett, who Pitt is in love with from the moment they met at a young age. This is def one of my favorite movies of 08. There's so many great quotes from this movie I couldnt remember, cant wait for it to come out on dvd. If you havent seen it already go check it out! Hit me up maybe i'll go again lol To anyone who's seen it, what is the relevence of hurricane katrina?

Some good quotes:

"For what it’s worth, it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit… start whenever you want… you can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that stop you. I hope you feel things that you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life that you’re proud of and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again."

"we are defined by opportunities. even the ones we miss...."

2009 Spring/Summer Nike Look book

Looks dope, Congrats to my girl Christina of the famous firm (second from the right)!

5 am Thoughts Part 1

Is it better to spend every second of your free time with a beautiful girl that you love... or spending every second of your free time running around with your closest friends doing the things you love...? It seems there is no medium..Sure there's that girl that goes out every night but who really wants that? You're in a relationship partly because you wanted to settle down.

"God damn she's fine but she parties all the time.." smh I think i should get that tattoo somewhere on me lol

I feel that naturally I am always trying to out do myself.. and in some ways this is a great trait but also in others its the worst.

For example:
I once worked at wendy's, but wendy's wasn't good enough so I went to Best Buy, Best Buy didn't pay me enough so I started doing misc construction work. That wasnt good enough either, then we built the bar..I thought about this in the lobby of atlantic records, waiting to go into a meeting with sickamore..GOOD

Here it is again:
I once dated a beautiful girl, but instead of focusing on how great she was and how much she loved me I focused more on how I could get a prettier girl, with better style and a better personality.. now i have no girl. BAD very bad. Im constantly searching for BETTER.

you see what im saying?

I read a couple of weeks ago in a book that peoples success is based of off what month of the year they were born in. The author backed it up with great facts, but i wonder... Is this really true? Was I born to be successful because my birthday is in February?

All I want for christmas is....

YOU!!

LOL I gotta stop posting these so I dont look like a psycho when I meet her... If you're on here reading one day and all my Mila posts disappear, you know what that means.....

Jay Z & Leo Dicaprio came to see Colin

Shyne po...

Cant wait for shyne to get released, one of my favorite artists...

Thursday, December 11, 2008

Colin in todays paper

"When young wannabe rock stars/rappers/songwriters try to create something new by making a bouillabaisse of all possible influences, the potential for poisonous stinkage is through the roof. Every once in a while, though, artists like New London's Flowers and Kain or breaking Canadian sensation Colin Munroe offer great hope for the whole concept of stylistic cut and paste.

Munroe is on a brief preparatory tour in anticipation of the January release of “Don't Think of Me as Less,” his debut major label release for Universal Motown. He appears Friday at Hanafin's Irish Pub in New London.

And Flowers and Kain open the show. This could be really great.

Munroe, with his yearning, Howie Day-style pop melodies and truly clever approach to urban music arrangement and production, has already garnered the endorsement of such folks as Kanye West, MTV, and Pitchfork Media. The songs are fresh and fun to listen to, whether on a dance floor or over headphones.

And we already know Flowers and Kain deserves similar national attention.

Jim Jones stole my guest list spots

Heres some video from the overly sold out show last night at Highline ballroom in nyc. The roster was Colin Munroe, Kid Cudi, Mark Ronson, and Wale and Guest performers included; Jim Jones, Freeway, Young Chris and a few others.. The show was so sold out that there were literally hundreds of people standing outside trying to get in. It sucked because I was on the guest list but the Russian Mafia promoters shut down the guest list and wouldnt let me bring anyone else in with me. So I ran inside for like 10 minutes to check it out... Anyway heres some video, shout out to Double G@Q105 digiwax media and Nah Right.com

What I was reading yesterday and today...

Outliers - The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell

"It is those who are successful, in other words, who are most likely to be given the kinds of special opportunities that lead to further success. It's the rich who get the biggest tax breaks. Its the best students who get the best teaching and most attention. And its the biggest nine- and ten-year-olds who get the most coaching and practice. Success is the result of what sociologists like to call 'accumulative advantage."

Dope book, def a must read!! My barnes and noble guru Sickamore put me on.

Thanksgiving

I usually never have too much fun on holidays, they're normally boring but this past thanksgiving was much different.. Wednesday night I worked at the bar till 1am.. It was PAAACKED from 9 till 1 you couldnt move, It was a beautiful thing. The beer and liquor couldnt pour fast enough. All my friends and fam were there for the most part and everyone was having a great time. When one o'clock rolled around the party was just getting started so we all went back to Fausto's spot to finish the night off. Heres some video and pictures from what went on..

J, Peedi, And Me
Cassie and Me
Theresa and Peedi
Me and Quad

Videos comin soon...Shout out to everyone that was partyin with us!! Josh, Niko Fausto, Geza, V, Theresa and Peedi, Q, Rod, Cassie, J and Maria, Hansen, Mech, Melissa and everyone else I mighta forgot..

So after the best night of the year so far, I was sitting with Geza, Fausto and the rest of the fam about to eat thanksgiving dinner and It got me thinkin... What more could I ask for? Why waste so much time and energy on negative people when I have the best people in the world already on my side...I have so much to be thankful for: My friends and Family, the bar, Sickamore and all my Famous Family: Jay, Nina, Mike, Sterling, Hovain, Phella, Sakwe, Sean, Christina, Markus, Aaron, Nisarg, Jaz and Bash..

Follow my lead!

Viva Las Vegas!

Decided Saturday night I was gonna slide out to Vegas for a couple days, get some stuff done, work from the macbook, chill out by the pool, drink mojitos, catch some shows etc etc you get the idea.. So I closed the bar Saturday at 2, ran to my apartment filled the louis bag with V necks, swimmin shorts, and sunblock and jumped in the charger. Hit a little traffic in the BX but nothin crazy enough to stop the wave.. So I run up in JFK get to gate 1 and hop on the plane.. Put the new Kanye on repeat, put my seatbelt on and start to zone out.. As we're in line to take off the plane starts moving then POW it sounds like we crash.. The TAIL FALLS OFF THE PLANE...wow, everyone starts spassin out, they tow us back to a gate, we evacuate the plane everyone back into the terminal and I retreat to the bar.. 6 hours later we take off.....VIIIIVA LAS VEGAS!

Checked out Chris Angels show... which was a mistake, what a snooze fest

Stayed at Treasure Island so the pool was extra wavey, it was around 80-85 everyday so I was prefect pool weather..Hit up this DOPE russian bar called RED SQUARE in Mandalay Bay

The bar is named after the most famous city square in Moscow, and arguably one of the most famous in the world. The decor inside was crazy, and the bar was made of ice.. They have a "vodka room" where if you buy a bottle you go into this special room, which is actually a cooler, and drink the bottle wearing a russian fur coat and hat because its 0 degrees inside..Big mistake lol I got TWISTED! and got a cold..

Ran into Chuck Zito, celebrity body guard/Actor/Former president of the hells angels...you might recognize him from the HBO series OZ.

But the highlight of this trip was watching Mr. Las Vegas aka Wayne Newton's show. Seeing him talk about the rat pack and sinatra from a round table drinking champagne 10 feet away made my year....

Cant do new things with old phones...

Yessir, bye bye iPhone.. November is definitely a time for change! I think when they dropped the price of the iPhone and every 90's baby and their cousin bought one it left a sour taste in my mouth...It took away the classy-ness of the phone and turned it into the new sidekick.. I paid half a stack for mine, and if you count the new one i bought after loosing my first one that=$1000.00/ONE STACK. How am I supposed to look wavey when every little ham an cheese eatin 15 year old is running around with one?
